It's unlikely after one hundred years of equality that people will take drugs for anything other than medicinally and occasionally for traditional spiritual experiences. That includes alcohol and caffeine and tobacco. I put drug use in this book because the war on drugs is far more harmful than the drugs.
Reforestation of the world’s deserts is more likely to take one thousand years not one hundred. I set this story in one hundred years time because who knows what daily life will be like in one thousand years and I want this story to be relatable to today.
It's possible that small scale satellites can be made and launched by a decentralised society, but maybe not. Only time will tell.
